Set on the frozen canals of Holland in 1860, follow the famous story of Hans Brinker, the boy who stuck his finger in the hole in the canal wall. Their one desire is to find someone who can cure their father. But how will they pay?
Hans and his little sister Gertie hear about the Race for the Silver Skates and wonder – if they win, could they sell the skates to pay for a doctor to help their father? Join us on the banks of the Zuiderzee to learn who will win the silver skates!
Zoe chesed does it again! What a lovely performance. Renting it from MM was seamless.
I did not know what to expect and I'm happy to say that Regal Productions really excelled with this one! The skating was beautiful. It has inspired me to take out my old skates and find a quiet place to try to attempt half the things the kids do in this show. The music was beautiful! Especially the father, played by Menucha Rothenberg, who is absolutely wonderful! The plot is intriguing and all the characters are well developed. I particularly enjoyed how well the children were individually characterized. Vustenvalbert Shimmelpfenningsman - or whatever his name is - was a great personality (for one example)! I loved his birthday ode to his grandmother! And lastly, the ballet was top notch. I knew even my mother would enjoy it and having taken ballet for a good nine years, she's very particular with these things. All in all, this is probably one of the best shows Regal has made, in my opinion. Side note: I found the father's plotline very intriguing. (Spoiler) I find it fascinating to watch a character wake up an invalid with no memory of the last five years. I would love to see him deal with getting on with life after this in more detail. However, I will say that I found his positive attitude refreshing. It would be so easy for a man in such a position to be super depressed and angsty, but he really didn't go down that hole... Did I mention this character intrigues me?
i loved the video it is so fun and cheerful and...
Very entertaining for little kids.
in the beginning it did not work on my computer but then it started and worked fine.
