In honor of Yom Yerushalayim singer Aharon Danin is releasing a new single, which expresses the longing and the love of Am Yisrael throughout the generations for Yerushalayim and the vision of its rebuilding.
The single was composed by Danin himself with a special arrangement by musician Yossi Dayan, and in the clip they try to display Yerushalayim Shel Matah and Yerushalayim Shel Ma’alah, and all of its wonderful aspects.
Jews throughout the generations have sung about their connection to Yerushalayim, and have expressed their love, longing, and nostalgia for the holy city, through literature, song, and prayer. It is the piece of land that connects above and below.
In every aspects of our lives, Jews remember Yerushalayim, its destruction and our hopes for its rebuilding. Specifically underneath the chuppah, at the moment when we are about to begin the building of a new Jewish home, we remember our hopes for the rebuilding of the city, because the building of our individual homes is essentially part and parcel of the rebuilding of the city.
