On Wednesday, July 13 , 2011 I’yh, at 7:00 PM, The Jewish Community Council of Marine Park (JCCMP) will host the 3nd Annual Glatt Mart / JCC -Project Mazon Barbeque.
The Barbecue will be held under a large tent in the park located at 2500 Nostrand Avenue between Avenue K and Avenue L in Brooklyn – right next to the Agudah of Avenue L. Last year the second Project Mazon Barbeque was a smashing success, with hundreds of people attending along with the City and State’s Highest elected officials and some great entertainers. This year, as Project Mazon has expanded its outreach and the people and communities that it serves, we are expecting over a five hundred people to come and partake in an incredible Barbecue, enjoy some great entertainment by singing sensation Lipa Schmeltzer and participate in an extremely worthy cause.
Project Mazon is an initiative that was created by the JCC of Marine Park to address the current plight of families who cannot afford to make ends meet, but may not qualify for food stamps or government aid. Times are difficult, many breadwinners have been laid off, and there are families struggling to put food on the table. Aware of these hardships, the Jewish Community Council of Marine Park, formed Project Mazon – a community food initiative to assist financially strapped families with their grocery bills. Project Mazon is based on the premise that every family who can, should commit to a weekly credit /debit card donation, and the funds are then transferred to weekly grocery store credits for those in need.
In recognition of this invaluable initiative and service, Glatt Mart has generously volunteered to co sponsor and cater an incredible barbecue to raise awareness money for this worthy cause. The Barbeque will also feature an amazing performance by Singing sensation Lipa Scheltzer and Shea Rubenstien along with the Ari bauman Orchestra . You will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffles benefiting Project Mazon
Please join us at this wonderful event to benefit the people living in your community. For more information, please visit www.KosherQ.org, www.jccmp.org or www.ProjectMazon.org or call the JCCMP’s office at 718-407-1832.
