[COLlive] Gad Elbaz Performs in Hong Kong

Popular Israeli singer Gad Elbazentertained a crowd of over 800 at a grand Chanukah celebration in Hong Kong, organized by Rabbi Mordechaiand Goldie Avtzon.

Over 800 Jews danced and rejoiced with lighting of the Menorah on the fifth night of Chanukah at a beautiful celebration held in Hong Kong.

It was organized by Shluchim Rabbi Mordechaiand Goldie Avtzon in cooperation with local shluchim Rabbi Yitzchokand Chana Eisenbachof Kowloon, Rabbi Shalomand Dina Segalof Shantou, and youth activities directors Rabbi Itzikand Yehudis Nachshon.

This year’s larger-than-usual event was held as part of a series of activities celebrating 25 years since the establishment of Chabad in Hong Kong and China.

The event included a children’s program, and a number of children received awards for good deeds done in Hong Kong, adding light to the world.

Hong Kong’s Deputy Interior Minister Ms. Florence Huias well as representatives from the Israeli consulate, were in attendance.

The Chairman of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Zaka of China, Mr. Rafael Aharoni, was honored with the lighting of the Menorah.

Popular Israeli singer Gad Elbaz, currently on tour in the Far East, performed for the enthusiastic crowd.
