by yossi August 24, 2008

So Yochi you are working on how many projects now? Acheinu III, Shloime Daskal II, and…. Shwekey V?
Daskal is  basically done and will be available next week iy”h. Acheinu on the other hand will take a little longer though not much. Yaakov’s album though we are nearing the middle and taking our time with.

How do you do it all and STILL play weddings during the week?
I just do. When yo enjoy something and can make Parnasa doing it, well you just make time.

What else is Studio X working on?
We are currently working on a numerous amount of projects. From famous singers to Chazonim, and from choirs to camp projects etc.

So its been what, 5 years since Shloime released his debut album “Kedai”, why so long?
Good question.

What kind of material are you using this time around?
We a defiantly branching out and trying a lot of different styles this time around.

Which composers are featured on the album?
Only the best and brightest Yitzy Waldner,  Moshe Wertzberger,  Shragi Gestetner,  Baruch Levine and others.

Now as far as Acheinu, will all the songs be by them again?
Yes.

What will be different this time around?
Full arrangement with brass and strings arranged by Yanky Briskman.

What crowd would you say they cater ?
Everyone.

Any of the brothers going solo?
I don’t know yet.

So Yaakov has been going round the world a lot lately, does he ever tire of it?
I hope not.

Is it a grueling schedule to keep up?
Sometimes. Its definitely not easy.

Where is neXt for Yaakov to go?
Only time will tell.

Are you working on anything new in the “Project” series?
Always working on new ideas.

Has there been any NEW talent that has come across your board?
Possibly.

Where do you see Jewish Music going in the next few years?
Hopefully in the JEWISH direction.
