“Al Naharot Bavel” (On the Rivers of Babylon) – Meidad Tasa’s new album has arrived at the stores. The wonder boy Meidad Tasa, is no longer a kid anymore. The young lad celebrated his Bar Mitzvah last year and is now releasing his second album, which is much more mature. During the last half year, the hit “Al Naharot Bavel” stood out very much and reached every home, even though it was never commercially released. Aviad Gil, who “discovered” the boy, has been accompanying him for the past few years and produced for him ten songs from the best of today’s composers, who each bring with their own style a different special color to this album. The new album “Al Naharot Bavel” features a wide variety of styles, from songs in Yiddish and in Chasidic accent, to “Kabbalat Ol Malchut Shamayim” in a Sefardic arrangement and in the middle you’ll also find Mediterranean songs. Tasa is gifted with an amazing singing and trilling ability. His great talent is expressed in his ability to sing in every musical style possible – Chasidic, Sefardic, Yemenite, Arabic, Trukish, Greek, English and even Rap music in a language he made up for himself. Aviad Gil relates that he is now working on more albums with Tasa, such as Selichos in a folk Sefardic accent, and an album which will renew old famous songs.
