We live in a world of perceived realities. Each moment of our lives we encounter the concepts of time and space and the limits they represent. Daily, we encounter sounds and silence, darkness and light. From our perspective, everything is as it appears; one sees color and hears sounds. Silence is silent, and darkness is dark. But we know that in truth, this world is nothing more than a great smokescreen. Our perceived reality is a mask for the true reality, the reality of “Ein Od Milvado”; “There is nothing but Him”, G-d’s presence permeates every particle of existence. When a person enters through the gateway of faith and approaches life from this lofty perspective, he finds that suddenly, everything is possible. Nothing, anymore, is as it seems. In this place, empty spaces are full, darkness is light, silence is loud, sound is colorful, and years can pass by over the course of one week. He realizes that all limits of any kind are perceived, and that in truth, anything is possible. This realization is most easily attained when one turns his mind’s eye away from world as his senses perceive it to instead approach it through the lenses of faith, the prism of “Ein od milvado”. This is one of the reasons we cover our eyes when we utter the proclamation of our faith, the Shema. “If I cover my eyes I can see it all”. Only when we turn our eyes away from the perceived realities that surround us can we open our eyes to the true spiritual reality.
If we allow this realization to permeate our being, we will soon realize that this limitlessness is true of our abilities as well; the sky is the limit. Regardless of past mistakes, we forever have the ability to transcend what we perceive to be our inborn limitations. Entering the realm of “Ein od milvado”, we come to realize that all that truly exists is the love of Hashem and His endless respect for the efforts we make along the road to greatness.

Lyrics:
Verse #1:
Lift me out of this abyss.
Let me realize that nothing but You exists.
Lost in the fullest empty space,
found the courage to pull the mask away,
reveal Your smiling face.
Heart beating fast on a lonely summer day,
thinking about lost thoughts of mine and words I’ll never say.
Entered a darkness full of light,
red roses line the garden path and whisper “It’ll all be alright”.
Chorus:
I never heard silence so loud it’s taking me over.
I’d never seen the color of sound,
the sunlight of forever.
But here I am,
drowning in the madness of mortal man,
picking up the rhythm of the master plan
my every breath is in His hand
And the shadows fall,
swimming in this vision no floors no walls,
knocked to my knees, gonna have to crawl,
if I cover my eyes I can see it all.
Low #2:
Many years passed by last week.
Discovered a world beyond this place to you it’s make believe.
You can get lost out there leave footprints when you go,
so no matter how far you fall you can always find your way back home.
Chorus:
I never heard silence so loud it’s taking me over.
I’d never seen the color of sound,
the sunlight of forever.
But here I am,
drowning in the madness of mortal man,
picking up the rhythm of the master plan
my every breath is in His hand
And the shadows fall,
swimming in this vision no floors no walls
knocked to my knees, gonna have to crawl,
if I cover my eyes I can see it all.
