[Video] – Naftali Kalfa with Shlomo Katz

by Kol Isha June 10, 2012

From Shlomo Katz:

Dearest Friends,
It is rare when one is able to find a piece of their own ‘neshama’ (soul) in someone’s else’s art and talent, but I have no other way to describe the following.

When Naftali Kalfa approached me to sing and produce some of his original melodies on his upcoming album, I was torn. As much as I would have loved to be part of an exciting project with a dear friend, I prayed that I would be able to connect to the music I was going to be introduced to.

In a nutshell, I found myself holding back my tears in the recording booth while trying to sing this holy niggun. This piercing melody touched me in such a profound way, where words can’t come close to doing justice.

The rest of the album is filled with collaborations with Gad Elbaz, the rapper Shyne,Yossi Piamenta and some of the most incredible musicians in the world of Jewish Music.

I am humbled and honored to share the following new single with you, ‘Zion”.
