Nachman Seltzer Presents: AM YISROEL – Shira Chadasha Boys Choir 5 [AUDIO SAMPLER]

by yossi May 27, 2014

Produced, conducted and composed by Rabbi Nachman Seltzer, “ Am Yisroel,” is the fifth album of the Shira Chadasha Boys Choir. If the last album was called The Torah Album, I would call this The Achdus Album since the title track Am Yisroel (which is sung both in English and Hebrew) is all about Klal Yisroel and Achdus. Another song on the album is Avi, Avi, which was written by the wife of a talmid of the Rosh Yeshiva. The Rosh Yeshiva possessed the unique ability to unite everyone he met with his smile, warmth and special brand of kindness. He served as an anchor for Klal Yisroel and brought tremendous Achdus to thousands. Both this song and the DVD, are tributes to him and how he lived his life.

There is an additional aspect to the album and that is the fact that quite a few of the songs are Shabbos related. There is a brand new Menucha V’simcha. Gam Ki Eilech, Yishoriru and Kel Adon are all Shabbos songs.

Chasal Sidur Pesach was written by an old friend of mine Reb Yishai Saks. I recorded it for Pesach along with a music video.
The album was arranged by another old friend, Reb Yitzy Berry, whose talent and fresh approach shines throughout the album.
Am Yisroel is a mixture of high energy music and beautiful soulful tunes, with something for everyone. It is an album which will be’ezras Hashem take it’s place in everyone’s hearts as they sing about Achdus and work towards incorporating this vital mida in our lives.

The DVD has the Am Yisroel music video, plus an original video of Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkelz’l speaking at the second to last Siyum Hashas and the Hadran song. It shows where the song’s inspiration came from and is a must see for any talmid of the Mir and anyone who misses the Rosh Yeshiva and his timeless messages.
