by yossi December 19, 2010

Elada Tzafira - Sham Bni

Six months ago, the musician and writer Elad Tzafira released single “Toda Lecha” became an overnight success, through major of airplay in radio stations. This led to many interviews, articles and reports in the press, talk shows and hundreds of concerts and events with his band throughout the country. All the success placed the Elad at center stage of the music industry and turned him into a real star.

For over a decade Elad has sung on stage in various ensembles and bands. He appeared in the original play “The Legend Of Shabazi”, which combined singing and acting together, and was a great success! He also became very well known becuase of his participation, three years ago, in the competition “Who wants to be the next king?”, whose goal was to find the “next thing” in Eastern music. Tzafira, who was a favorite of the audience throughout the competition, was unanimously chosen and approved of by the panel of judges comprised of producers, industry and media professionals. However, Tzafira had just begun on the path to frumkeit and at the last minute, after being offered a contract, backed out of the competition.

Between the hundreds of performances and events, Tzafira has been hard at work on debut album which will be out in the coming months. It will consist of songs written with Middle-Eastern flavor. Participants in the album include Avi Avidan, Eric Cohen, Avi Ifrah, and more.

“Shma B’ni”, is the third single that is both rhythmic as well as light and catchy, which is characteristic of Tzafira. Filled with lyrics that express, positive thinking and optimistic perspective about daily occurrences, it speaks to all of us at our level.
