Superstar Lipa Schmeltzer will be taking to the runway this Sunday morning.
Nope, the bespectacled singer won’t be modeling any of his psychedelic bekeshes. Lipa will be lacing up his running shoes for a 5K walk/run benefitting Our Place, a drop in center that serves hundreds of at risk teens in Brooklyn every night.
Always one to think big, Lipa is hoping that he can put together 100 runners for Team Lipa, with a goal of raising $50,000 for Our Place. A tall order, but Schmeltzer has always been one to think big.
“The youth of Our Place have always been close to my heart,” said Lipa. “I see and sense their pain. Our Place is unique in embracing the struggling youth that are roaming our streets, and facilitates for them a second chance at a meaningful life.”
The race, which will take place at Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn, will kick off with an 11 AM race for men, followed by an 11:45 women’s race.
