On Sunday night January 12th, 2014 was that night that Jewish rock was revived at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. The annual HASC- A T.I.M.E. for Music concert was celebrating its 27th year as well as we were all celebrating 40 years of Camp Hasc. How do you celebreate 40 year? Well with only the best and brightest stars JM has to offer including; Avraham Fried, 8th Day, Benny Friedman, Ohad, Baruch Levine, Diaspora Yeshiva Band, Abie Rotenberg, and surprise guests Ari Goldwag and grandson of the founders the Kahn’s who started HASC, Ieshula Ishakis. Music was performed by the Neginah Orchestra led by the maestro Yisroel Lamm joining them in song was the world renown Shira Choir.
During the evening a plaque was presented to parents of a HASC child for being parents of the year. The father of the child went on to give a moving speech with a dvar torah from the Mashgiach. Later in the program we learned that an anonymous donor was so moved by the fathers words to the audience, that he pledged to build a new bunkhouse the cost of which is $300,000!!.
One of the highlights of the night was an unrehearsed song that was special requested during the show, the hit song “Ivdu.” Joining the legendary DYB for the song were members for the “Friedman family” Avraham Fried, 8th Day and Benny Friedman.
In honor of the 40th year of Camp HASC, here are 40 photos from the official HASC photographer extraordinaire Stan Weiss this year celebrating his 10th year of taking photo at HASC concerts.
Special thanks to the producers Suki & Ding productions for putting on such a stellar show.
