This second album from the Moshe Skier Band covers all the bases for this hard working Jewish Rock band. From Stadium Rock to an intimate lullaby, from Rockabilly to Disco, and Classic guitar-oriented rock all the way through. Bassist Moshe Skier and Guitarist Mendel Appel are joined by Drummer Del Bennett and Keyboardist Brian Gelfand. Songs include many long-time concert fan favorites as well as retrospectives on Moshe’s 25+ year musical career. Whether you understand Hebrew or not, you’re going to get a kick out of this collection of songs. There’s something on this album for everyone.
About Moshe Skier:
Original Shlock Rock bassist was also a founding member of the band Kabbalah, one of the first Jewish Rock bands to fuse guitars and synths into unique Jewish Music in the 80s. He went on to be one of the founding members of Shlock Rock, and together with Lenny Solomon and crew recorded multiple albums and toured the world and elsewhere.
Upon settling in the Midwest in the 1990s, he released Moshe Skier-Rock of Sages, a collection of original Jewish songs featuring a soulful rendition of Ani Maamin.
He then formed the Moshe Skier Band, which toured the Midwest playing Jewish Rock and making a Kiddush Hashem in clubs and shuls, and developed a strong non-Jewish following due to the virtuoso guitar playing of Mendel Appel. The band played Summerfest, the largest outdoor music festival in the US, six times.
It released a debut album, Light Up the World, in 2009, and followed up with Jews Keep Rockin, a collection of rock, blues, rockabilly, folk and plain ole fashioned Jewish goodness in 2012.
