A year after having released his debut album featuring songs from Rav Kook “Masas Nafshi“, Eliezer Shmidov returns with his second album “Hovu Ohr” which also features songs from Harav Kook and was released on gimmel Elul which is Rav Kook’s yahrtzeit.

All of the lyrics on the album are from the writings of Rav Kook or based on the teachings of Rabbi Kook. The compositions are mostly created by Eliezer himself, except one song composed by the Rosh Yeshiva of yeshiva Hasder B’ako, Rabbi Yossi Stern, who discovered the found great composed by Elchanan Shmidov Eliezer brother. The album was produced by the master Reuvain Hayon, who worked successfully and delivered a very diverse. Shmidov certainly continues to provide a pleasant surprise with his ability to combine words generally considered as simple and poetry itself.

The songs deal with a variety of topics taken from the greatest teachings of Rabbi Kook. Modois Atzmis (B’svili Nivra HaOlam), Hichos L’phiv (Hilul Hayofi), Ahavas Yisroel with criticism of the negative effects (Kulach Yofeh), Hiches Bein HaRatzon Merchavim L’bein Pratei halacha (Shira L’chukim, Merchavim, Milchemasi Hapnimis), Aliya L’eretz (Achim Nidchim, Galus), and more.

A particularly moving song on the album is “Motzosi Rav” whcih features a beautiful choir. The song tells the story of Rabbi Hanazir zt”l a faithful disciple of Rabbi Kook how he came to become close to Rav Kook, which is expressed specifically the emotional side through prayer.
