Hallelujah is a one-of-a kind Global Hebrew Singing Contest for Jewish Talent ages 18 to 30, which unites contestants from all over the world in Israel to explore their heritage, learn about the Israeli culture, language, and meet other Jews while following their passion for music. All the contestants will immerse themselves in a once in a life time experience and compete to become the next singing sensation!
Hallelujah received hundreds of applications and the Team of Judges has chosen 30 talented candidates who are currently participating in the Hallelujah Contest in Israel!
After two intense semi-final rounds, the judges narrowed the field down to 14 contestants who will battle it out in a huge outdoor concert in Ramat Hasharon, on Saturday August 18th at 9pm, and will be broadcast live on Israel’s national TV. This years Judges include famed singers Yehoram Gaon and Dudu Fisher.
American Jewish pop singer DOV, has been announced as of the 2012 finalists. He will be performing the iconic and intense Israeli song, Badad, by Zohar Argov. As always, DOV will put his original spin on this older classic, and reinterpret it into a pop-rock ballad. DOV is best known for his recent album DOV: The Gift, and for his viral video Hu Yivarech, a Song for the IDF Soldiers, which currently has over 73,000 views on Youtube.
