There is a new album that has arrived on the Jewish music scene. The Pirchei Yisrael Boys Choir from Givat Shmuel with their new single “Ahavat Chinam” off their new album.
The choir, conducted by Meir Gabai and managed by Arnon Goldberg has some twenty young men and even more than that in talent. The children meet every week to study the principles of Jewish and Israeli music, practice and have appeared at local and as well as national events. The choir’s debut album came out a year ago and received great acclaim.
The young ensemble specializes in an impressive repertoire, combining Israeli songs with more traditionally holy songs with soul, as well as innovative arrangements and original tunes. The richness and diversity of musical styles, and texts, aims to represent the fabric of Israeli culture all its components “with all faces of Israel.” Even the single “Ahavat Chinam” original intention was to bring a sense of unity to the Israeli public.
“In light of recent events, including siblings turning their backs on themselves and their own kin,” says musician and conductor Meir Gabbai, “We decided ‘to focus on creating some real people, that we all are really one family. Religious and secular, soldiers and civilians need to invest in free love- Ahavat Chinam . It is time to turn the hatred, hostility to love … “.
The full album will hopefully be released for Lag B’Omer, when the band will tour in Israel and in Jewish communities abroad.
