Malky Weingarten - Hello Tomorrow
Description
Based on the book Lidingo by Chana Mantel
Inspired by a true story of triumph and survival
After WWII Rabbi Shlomo Wolbe z"I worked with Agudah to set up a school for broken homeless girls who survived the holocaust. It was run by Rav Benyamin Zeev Jacobson and Rebbetzin Baila Jacobson, on the small Swedish island of Lidingo, where they provided a warm and loving sanctuary
in which the girls could heal and rebuild their lives. In the 3 years it was open, over 100 girls passed through the doors of the home in Lidingo. Most of the girls went on to Israel and America.
"Today, thank G-d, the Lidingo girls are the grandmothers of a new generation of observant Jews.
Each new arrival is a source of pride for the Lidingo family, a new link in the tradition of their martyred ancestors."
