Was blown away by everyone's talent, especially Mindy and Ellisheva Blatt, their voices are out of this world! I was really disappointed that Miryam Lakritz isn't in it........ Can't wait to see the next one.

Well done Rachel's Place cast! This play welcomes back some favorites! Fagin- Chanchy Tennenbaum, Bet Sykes- Mindy Blatt, Nancy Sykes - Mindy Nussbaum, Mr. Sowerbury - Esther Jacobs, and, to my great surprise, Oliver is played by Elisheva Blatt! No wonder she's excellent! She must have the same vocal training as her sister! I have seen the original twice (in my days of secular tv consumption) and read the book as many times, and I can say that they really do an excellent job. Actually, I'm rather impressed with how they add some interpersonal depth between the Sykes siblings. They also added a few songs from other musicals, some of which I recognized, other's I didn't. I was impressed with how seamlessly they switched the inappropriate lyrics to something else entirely while keeping the rhythm and musicality to the songs. Also, I was thrilled to see Malky Rosin in a more dominant part in this play. She's such a great actress and gave her character such softness and feeling. Basic synopsis: Little, innocent orphan Oliver is kicked out of the orphanage for the heinous crime of asking for more food for supper. Despicable. From there he's pulled from pillar to post by multitudes of not-so-righteous people. All this kid wants is a home but he goes with the flow - most of the time. In his various sojourns, he's taken in by Mr. Sowerbury, an oft comically inebriated innkeeper with a penchant for stealing and grossly overcharging, Fagin's gang, a gang of young pickpockets who are under the care of an eccentric but loving thief, and a kindly older gentleman whose name I can't recall right now. A subplot that's woven throughout: Bill Sykes is a veteran thief who cares for nobody but himself. His sisters must decide if they should continue to try to help him or run far, far away. Meanwhile, his crimes become more dastardly and he's a threat to all who him. This particular show is beautiful, immersive and full of talent!
